Custom fields

Track anything (budget, client, effort, approvals) with your own fields.

Custom fields add your own information to every task in a project. They appear as columns in Table view, on Board cards and in the task panel.

Add a field

  1. 1Click Fields in the project header (or the + at the end of the Table header).
  2. 2Under Add a field, type a name, for example Budget.
  3. 3Choose a type.
  4. 4For a Dropdown or Multi-select, type each option and press Enter. Each option gets its own color.
  5. 5For Currency, pick the currency. You can change it later in the same dialog.
  6. 6Click Add.

Fill in a field

Click the cell in Table view or the field in the task panel. Dropdown and Person fields open a list showing each option as a colored pill (or each person with their avatar); lists with more than 8 entries include a search box, and Clear removes the value. A Multi-select list has a checkbox per option: tick as many as you like; the list stays open until you click away.

Dropdown options show their colors.

Change or delete fields

  • Rename a field or add and remove dropdown options in the Fields dialog.
  • Delete a field with its trash icon. This removes its values from every task.
  • Reorder fields by dragging their column headers in Table view.

Fields belong to one project. You can filter by Dropdown, Multi-select, Person and Checkbox fields (a Multi-select filter shows tasks with any of the options you pick), and sort by any field.
