Export your data
Download a project as CSV, Excel or JSON, or the whole workspace as one JSON file. No lock-in.
Your work is yours. You can download it at any time, on every plan, in open formats that spreadsheets and other tools can read.
Export one project
- 1Open the project and click Export in the project header.
- 2Choose Export CSV, Export Excel or Export JSON. The file downloads straight away.
Anyone who can see a project can export it. You can also download every project from Settings → Export your data.
| Format | What's in it |
|---|---|
| CSV | One row per task and subtask: stage, title (subtasks indented), parent task, assignee, start and due dates, priority, labels, completed, comment count, every custom field as readable text, description |
| Excel | The same table as a .xlsx file with real dates, filters, a frozen header row and numeric Number and Currency columns, plus a Project sheet |
| JSON | Everything above plus the field definitions and options, raw field values and the full text of every comment |
Opening the CSV in Excel? It's saved as UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so accents and emoji show correctly.
Export the whole workspace
- 1Go to Settings and scroll to Export your data.
- 2Click Export workspace (JSON).
The file contains the members (names and emails), labels, every project you can see with its stages, custom fields, tasks, subtasks, field values and comments, and your own personal tasks. Private projects you aren't a member of are not included.
Exporting the whole workspace needs the Export the whole workspace permission (admins have it). Every workspace export is recorded in the audit log.
Files and attachments
Exports list tasks, not the files attached to them. Download files from each task, or read everything through the REST API.
