Diagrams: flowcharts, mind maps, org charts and process maps
Draw diagrams inside notebook pages, with auto-layout for mind maps and org charts, swimlanes for processes, and SVG/PNG export.
Diagrams live inside Notebook pages. In a page, click Insert and choose Flowchart, Mind map, Org chart or Process map. The diagram editor opens full screen; click Done to go back to the page. Click a diagram on a page to open it again.
Draw
- Add shapes from the toolbar (rectangle, rounded box, ellipse, diamond, text), or double-click the canvas.
- Drag a shape to move it; drag its bottom-right square to resize it.
- Select a shape and drag one of its blue dots onto another shape to connect them with an arrow. Drop it on empty canvas to create a connected shape.
- Double-click a shape or an arrow to edit its label. Enter saves, Shift+Enter adds a line.
- Pick a colour for the selected shapes, and straight or elbow arrows.
- Click to select, Shift+click to select more, Delete to remove. Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z undo and redo.
- Scroll to pan (or drag the empty canvas), Ctrl+scroll to zoom, or use the zoom buttons and Fit. Snap to grid keeps things tidy; arrow keys nudge.
Mind maps and org charts
These are laid out for you. Select a box and press Tab to add a child or Enter to add a sibling, then type its name. Tidy re-arranges the whole tree. Deleting a box also deletes the boxes under it.
Process maps
Click Lane to add a horizontal swimlane. Double-click a lane's name to rename it, drag its bottom edge to make it taller, or select it and press Delete to remove it.
Export
SVG and PNG in the editor's top bar download the diagram as an image.
Diagrams save automatically while you work. Anyone in the workspace can open and edit them, like notebook pages.
