Share a project with a read-only link
Show clients and partners how a project is going with a link. They don't need an account and can't change anything.
A read-only link shows a project's stages and tasks to anyone who has it, without signing in. Use it to keep a client up to date without inviting them to your workspace.
Create a link
- 1Open the project and click Share.
- 2Under Share outside the workspace, click Read-only link.
- 3Choose Whole project or Only some stages, and when the link should expire (7, 30 or 90 days, or never).
- 4Leave Let people open tasks on if they may read task descriptions and subtasks.
- 5Click Create link and copy it.
What people see
- Task names, stages, done or open, due dates, priority and subtask progress.
- Assignees by first name and initials only.
- With task details on: the description (as plain text) and the subtasks.
They never see comments, files, emails, custom fields, activity or other projects. The page is not listed by search engines.
Revoke or check links
Links are listed in the project's Share dialog and on the Shared page, grouped into active, expiring soon and expired or revoked. Click Revoke to turn a link off immediately.
A link works only while the person who made it still has access to the project. If they leave the workspace or lose access to a private project, the link stops working.
Anyone with the link can open it. Share it only with the people it's meant for, and set an expiry for anything sensitive.
