Trash: restore deleted tasks, projects and pages

Deleted tasks, projects and notebook pages wait in the Trash for 30 days, so you can put them back.

When you delete a task, a project or a notebook page, it isn't gone right away. It moves to the Trash for 30 days. Until then you can restore it with everything that belonged to it.

What comes back

  • A task: its subtasks, comments, history, files, custom field values, labels, related tasks, tracked time, reminders, approvals and client messages.
  • A project: its stages, fields, members, every task (as above), automations, dashboards, saved views, forms, share links, task templates, scheduled reports, calendar feeds, email addresses and webhooks.
  • A notebook page: its sub-pages and their diagrams.

Restored items keep their links: an old link to the task or project opens it again.

Restore something

  1. 1Click Trash at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. 2Find the item: search by name, or filter by Tasks, Projects or Pages.
  3. 3Click Restore. A message confirms it, with a link to open it.

When things changed in the meantime

JinkoUp puts the item back as close to where it was as it can, and tells you what it did:

  • The task's project was deleted: the task comes back to My Work.
  • Its stage was deleted: it goes to the project's first stage.
  • A subtask's parent task is gone: it comes back as a task of its own in the project.
  • Its owner left the workspace (or can't see a private project): the task is unassigned.
  • Labels, custom fields or related tasks that were deleted are left out.
  • A notebook page whose parent page is gone or archived comes back at the top level.

Deleted a project and one of its tasks earlier? Restore the project first, then the task, and the task goes back into the project.

Who sees what

  • You always see what you deleted.
  • Tasks show for everyone who can see their project. Personal tasks show only for their owner.
  • Projects show for admins and the project owner.
  • Notebook pages show for everyone in the workspace.

Restoring or deleting forever needs the same rights as deleting did: for a project, its owner, an admin or someone whose role allows deleting projects.

Delete forever

Click the bin icon next to an item to delete it for good, files included. Empty Trash (admins only) does this for everything. Neither can be undone.

After 30 days, items are deleted forever on their own. Each row shows how many days are left.

Restoring, permanently deleting projects and emptying the Trash are recorded in the audit log.
