Recurring tasks
Make a task repeat every day, weekday, week, month or year. Completing it creates the next one.
Some work comes back on a schedule: a weekly report, a monthly invoice run, a yearly renewal. Set the task to repeat once, and JinkoUp creates the next one each time you complete it.
Make a task repeat
- 1Open the task and find Repeat (under the start date and estimate).
- 2Choose Daily, Every weekday (Mon–Fri), Weekly, Monthly or Yearly, or Custom… for every N days, weeks, months or years.
- 3For weekly rules, pick the days (for example Monday and Thursday). For monthly rules, pick the day of the month.
- 4Optionally pick an Ends date: no occurrence is created after it.
Under the row you see the rule in words (for example Every Monday and Thursday) and when the next one will be due. Click Edit to change the details later.
What happens when you complete it
- A new task is created with the same title, description, project, stage, owner, priority, labels, custom field values and estimate.
- Subtasks come along as a fresh, unfinished checklist.
- The due date moves to the next day in the series, and the start date keeps the same distance before it.
- The repeat rule moves to the new task. The completed one stays in the history as a normal, finished task.
- Both tasks record it in their activity, and webhooks and automations treat the new one as a newly created task.
The next due date counts from the current due date, not from the day you finish, so finishing a weekly task late doesn't shift the series. A task without a due date counts from the day you complete it.
Month ends and leap years
A monthly rule on day 29, 30 or 31 falls on the last day of shorter months (for example February 28). A yearly rule from February 29 falls on February 28 in other years.
Pause or stop
- Click the pause button on the Repeat row to pause the rule. While paused, completing the task doesn't create the next one. Click play to resume.
- Click ×, or choose Doesn't repeat, to stop repeating altogether.
- Reopening a completed task never creates a second copy.
See all recurring tasks
Click All recurring tasks under the Repeat row to open the Recurring tasks page: every repeating task you can see, grouped by project, with its rule, due date, the date after that, and pause or resume. Click a title to open the task.
