Ask a client or partner for updates
Send someone outside the workspace a link to mark tasks done, move them, change due dates and reply, without an account.
A request for updates gives one person a link to a few tasks. They can update those tasks, and only in the ways you allow, without creating an account.
Send a request
- 1Open the project and click Share, then Request updates.
- 2Pick the tasks, or Everything open in a stage.
- 3Enter the person's name and, optionally, their email and a message.
- 4Choose what they can do: mark tasks done or not done, move tasks to another stage, change due dates, write messages.
- 5Click Send request. With an email address the link is emailed to them; otherwise copy the link and send it yourself.
What happens when they make a change
- The change is made in your name and shows in the task's activity as made via the guest, for example via Sam (guest): completed this task.
- You and the task's assignee get a notification.
- They can only change the tasks in the request, never anything else.
Client messages
Messages from the guest appear in the task window under Client messages, apart from your internal comments. Replies you write there are shown to the guest on their page (and emailed to them when you entered their email). Internal comments stay internal.
Revoke the request from the Share dialog or the Shared page when you're done. It also stops working when it expires, or when you lose access to the project.
